RoboSub 2023 runners-up Team BRACU Duburi 4.0 felicitated at BRACU
RoboSub is a competition whose goal is to advance the development of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) by challenging a new generation of engineers to perform realistic missions in an underwater environment.
BRAC University on Sunday felicitated 10 members of the runners-up BRACU Duburi team in the 26th International RoboSub Competition. The team members presented their experience of participating in the competition in the university auditorium at Mohakhali.
Information and Communication Technology Secretary Md. Samsul Arefin congratulated the BRACU Duburi team through a video message.
BRAC University Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Syed Mahfuzul Aziz, Robi Axiata Limited Chief Commercial Officer Shihab Ahmed and Walton Digitech Industries Executive Director Azizul Hakeem spoke among others.
Public Affairs Counselor of US Embassy in Dhaka Stephen Ibeli, Vice President of Brand and Market Communication of Robi Axiata Limited Shamim Uz Zaman, Executive Director of Walton Digitech Industries Azizul Hakim, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department of BRAC University Mohammad Khalilur Rahman and Registrar of BRAC University David Dowland were present at the event.
Professor Md. Khalilur Rahman, advisor and in Charge of the team, and Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department of BRAC University; software engineer and founder of BRACU Duburi team Adnan Sabbir, co-adviser of BRACU Duburi Md. Mozammel Haque Sourav and project managers Sayantan Roy and Naeem Hasan Saikat were also present at that time.
It was reported that 'BrackU Duburi' is able to move automatically under water as well as collect data through machine learning. It can provide sustainable solutions in water pollution reduction, search and rescue operations. At the same time, it can conduct automated monitoring and research in cases where it is difficult for humans to conduct operations.
The members of the team who took part and became the Runners-up in the RoboSub Competition were: Team leader ATM Masum Billah, assistant team leader Md.
